Thomas F. Gattiker
Tom Gattiker PhD CFPIM is an Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management
at Boise State University. His research focuses on environmentally
sustainable supply management, as well as on the use of information systems,
including e-commerce systems, in operations and supply chain management. His research appears in The
Journal of Operations Management, The Journal of Supply Chain Management, The International Journal of Production Research,
MIS Quarterly, Information and Management, Production and Inventory Management Journal, Quality Management Journal, Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education
and other
journals and books. He is an associate editor at the Journal of
Supply Chain Management and a member of the editorial review boards of the
Journal of Operations Management and
Quality Management Journal. He was a 2007 JSCM
outstanding Associate Editor, a 2005 Academy of Management OM Division Best
Reviewer and the 1999 APICS Education and Research Foundation George and Marion Plossl
Fellow. He is an officer of the OM Division of the Academy of Management. Before obtaining his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia
(2000), he held
a variety of positions in operations and inventory management, most recently at
Rockwell Automation/Reliance Electric. He is certified in production and
inventory management (CFPIM) by the American Production and Inventory Control Society
and he is a past president of that organization's Athens, Georgia chapter.
He enjoys spending time with his family and participating in mountain sports.
He serves on the board of the Southwest Idaho Mountain Biking Association.
