Accessing online and print resources:

Please download electronic materials during the week prior to when they are to be discussed.  That way, if you have a problem, we will have time to rectify  it.   Since all students have free access to computers in BSU labs, there is really no tech-related excuse for not being able to download an article.

Blackboard Log onto Blackboard.  Select this course from the list of courses in which you are enrolled.   Click Course Documents section, and then click on the downloads that you want.  PDF files on Blackboard are large so it is recommended that you download them from campus or at home using a high speed connection, not dial-up.  Since all students have free access to computers in BSU labs, there is really no excuse for not being able to download an article.

ECCH Download:  Go to www.ecch.com.  Click My Profile to register.  Click Case Search and search on case number above.  Follow prompts.  When registering, select Boise State from the dropdown box, rather than typing it in. After clicking "Add to Basket," choose "electronic permission" in order to purchase the case as a secure PDF.  When registering and purchasing, you need to fill out all fields (incl your physical address).  Delivery is not instantaneous.  Allow one business day for delivery.

HBSP Download (Harvard Business School Publishing).  These are available as sealed electronic downloads, which are a type of PDF file.  Click on this link belowto buy  the materials: http://cb.hbsp.harvard.edu/cb/access/4437367 .  If you have not registered with Harvard Business Online, you will be required to do so.   For subsequent access, you must login to http://harvardbusinessonline.org  Each case/article costs approx $4.00.

The downloaded course materials are encrypted using SealedMedia. Use the following link to download the plug-in.  http://download.sealedmedia.com/unsealer/index.asp

The Pharos printing system in the COBE Computer Lab may have a problem with sealed downloads.  If so, there is a dedicated station at the front of the lab for printing sealed downloads.

You are also free to order hard copies if you prefer, but of course you must allow sufficient lead time for delivery.

Darden Download:  Go to the following url https://store.darden.virginia.edu.  Type the item number or case name into the search box.  Purchase the electronic download of the case.

Bookstore:  This item is available for purchase in the bookstore.

"Prepare questions..."  Above, the instructor has provided written questions for most of the nuts and bolts text chapters and articles that we will cover in the course (Burt text, Wisner text, etc.) The written questions exist to allow us to cover the material in class in a swift and non-boring fashion.  You should answer the questions in writing when doing the reading so that you are prepared when the instructor calls on you to explain concepts in class.  It is unlikely that the instructor will collect students' written answers.
